Q: I am new to the concept of Pet Sitting Services in my home. How does the whole process work?
A:
When you contact us, we discuss your pet, breed, age, disposition, personality, medications, etc. Then we set up a "meet and greet" so that we can meet your pet/s and you can meet us. We want you to be comfortable with us and we want to make sure your pets love us as much as we expect they will!

We will have you complete a pet information form for each pet, a Veterinary Release Form, so we know who your Vet is, their contact information, etc. We also have a release that you sign allowing us to take your pet/s to the vet should they become ill or injured while we are sitting your pet/s.

**Special Note: We also call your vet just prior to our first pet sitting visit with your babies, to introduce ourselves, get their hours of operation, names of receptionist and vet/s. We let them know we are sitting your pet and if there is an emergency after hours, who should we call...In most cases they refer us to the 2 emergency clinics in the Gwinnett or Hall County Area (See our Important Information Page).

We have a form that includes all of your contact numbers, emails, etc. The name and contact number of where you will be staying and any local emergency contacts. We want to cover ALL basis for the security of your home and pet/s.

There is also a form which details the days and number of visits that you want us to sit your pet and the total fees involved. We require 1/2 payment up front when we meet your pet/s. The other half is paid after our sitting job is over. We place an invoice in your home and upon your return you will mail the payment to us or we may just swing by and pick it up.

At this time we will ask for a key to your home for access. If you have a security system, we will need the code for entry and your security company's phone number. If you have a key made for us PLEASE check to make sure it works! Better yet, do not let us leave without US checking your locks so we have no problems getting inside to take care of your babies. You do not want us to have to call a locksmith!

We will keep your house key in a safe place in our office. We will identify your key by an ID only we will recognize. Plus we have no employees, so only the 2 of us will have access to your key.

We can then retain this key for future pet sitting assignments at your option. This is a good idea because if you need us to sit for you again, which we certainly hope we will DO.....we will have your key on file and it eliminates another trip out to your home and a trip fee!

Q:
What types of pets do you sit?
A
: Small Dogs under 70 pounds. Larger dogs considered on case by case basis, all cats and fish. We do not have experience sitting other species, so it is best to get a sitter who has that kind of experience.

Q:
What is included in the typical visit to my home to sit my pet?
A:
We spend approximately 30 minutes or longer and take your pet/s out to go potty, refresh their water bowls at least once a day, playtime, LOTS OF LOVING, clean up any accidents in the cage or on the floor, switch on and off various lights during the visits, bring in any mail and newspapers and take trash to curb on trash days and return trash can to its proper place.

Q:
How do I know you are coming for each visit that we agreed upon?
A:
This is where you will love our service....We take photos on our cell phone or camera and we text message or email you once a day to let you know we were there and that all is good on the home front. Clients LOVE This Service. Also as you know, neighbors are watching your home, they can tell you if we were there or not....We do not mind being watched, we expect it!!

Q:
What if it is raining out and my pet does not like to potty in the rain?
A:
 We ask your pet, do you feel like getting wet today? If they turn their nose up, we say okay just wet in the house, we have carpet cleaner....JUST KIDDING we wanted to see if you were really reading this and paying attention! 
Don't you worry, we have pets that do not like the rain either, we will get them outside to do their duty!!

Q:
What if something happens to my home or pet while you are sitting?
A:
We Sit Your Pet will be responsible for any damage caused by willful neglect on our part but not on the part of your pet/s.  Please rest assured as part of our CODE OF ETHICS, we will treat your home and your pets as if they were our own and with the utmost respect and due diligence and care that they deserve.

Q:
Do you accept Credit Cards?
A:
Yes, we do via Pay pal (please add $5.00 service fee) otherwise we accept Cash or Check. 1/2 paid up front, the other 1/2 at end of the pet sitting assignment. There is a $50.00 fee for returned checks.

Q: 
What if we have to cancel our pet sitting appointment?
A:
  First We Cry....as we will not be able to love and sit your pet. But if you must cancel within 3 days of our assignment, your deposit of 1/2 will be retained by We Sit Your Pet, as we will have likely turned down other work and it would be impossible at that late date to fill your spot.  During  the Holidays, we require a 10 day cancellation lead time. Q: 
Are you insured or bonded.
A:
  We are insured with liability insurance through Pet Sitter International, LLC. It covers all aspect of pet sitting including damage to your property or pets from our negligence as well as what they define as mysterious disappearance (theft).  We are not bonded as we do  not employ anyone. It is only my husband and myself that will be sitting your pets.
No employees!

Q:
What if something happens to my pet while you are sitting them?
A:
We will FIRST take them to the vet and then contact you next to advise what happened.I am sure you would not want us to delay this, when in doubt it is best to be safe when it comes to the health of your beloved pet/s.

Q:
Do we get a discount if we refer someone who uses your service?
A:
YOU BET!  We will provide one free first visit for your pet/s. If you do not have a pet, you can give that credit to the person who you referred to us as a nice present!

A:
Absolutely! What a nice idea for someone you care about.
